Something to listen to. Some Cockstock artists from this year’s line up and some tracks we love, to build up a musical playlist through many different styles. Hit ‘Subscribe’ in Spotify to listen later. Podcast will be up next week!

Fresh from The BBC Introducing main stage at Sonar, Sheffield’s unclassifiable dance act Shake Aletti bring the party to Cockstock. In the space of a year, Steve & G have worked with/remixed artists such as Roots Manuva, Bat for Lashes, Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding, and Roisin Murphy, and they raise the roof live.

We are also very excited about the arrival of Freshly Squeezed’s Victorian Astronaut Dodo. Watch her amazing Electric Love here, and also catch her performing at Bestival this year. At this year’s Cockstock we get the full audio visual show with the Punkvert VJs.

Time to release some more detail on this years live line up; here are a few snippets of info on some of the acts performing on the 18th September. We will be releasing more over the next few weeks and a Cockstock Podcast is set to drop at the end of August.

First things first, Black Elvis returns by popular demand and will kick off our biggest live roster yet. South London Delta Blues and Rocksters Banned Sauce will provide an attack of the killer bees, in contrast to Flamenco wizard Juan Martin. Regarded as one of the best guitarists in the world, Martin will provide a latin twist to our industrial setting playing an exclusive set with electronic producer Carlotek show casing their Flamencotek sound. We also welcome rockers Beggars Canyon (think Captain Beefheart playing Tool, really loud) and Hip-Hop party starters Frenglish Connexion to the main stage this year… yes they actually have a song titled Brok Wild! Also look out for Rock n Roll trail blazers Johnny and the Medicine Show (pictured). “Britain’s answer to The Drums” say The Independent.

We’ll tempt you further with one man barber shop Hyperpotamus. Doesn’t quite do him justice but check out a video performance for LA here. You can also catch him at Big Chill Festival.

Also, if you fancy a quick drink before you come in head to Frank’s Cafe for more spectacular views and a sculpture exhibition. All details here at their site, they’ll be open from 11 am.

Citizens, through the will of the universe, we have managed to secure an actual factory building fully capable of producing our commodity, LOVE. Several factory floors, grand stair-wells, hidden chambers and a view of London from the roof that is simply unmatched. The time has come to take the next step in our history; we’d be honoured for you to be part of it. The festival factory opens at 12pm Midday, we look forward to you clocking in.
This years Theme: Industrial * Revolution as two separate or combined entities. Think: Che Guevara chilling out at the main stage with a couple of power station chimneys; George Stephenson’s Rocket charging past Oliver Cromwell at the bar; communist mercenaries dancing the night away with Clive Sinclair; end of the night nonsense chat between a steam train, a vending machine and the Baader Meinhof gang. Make it as weird, surreal and tenuous as you like, it is Cockstock after all.
TWO STAGES OF OUTSTANDING MUSIC AND PERFORMANCE // FACTORY VENUE // ALL DAY BBQ // LIVE BANDS // LIVE DJS // INSTALLATION & VISUALS // 7TH FLOOR ROOF TERRACE STAGE WITH STUNNING VIEWS OF LONDON // DIRT CHEAP BARS // COMICS // REGGAE SOUND SYSTEM // DANCERS // 18 HOUR FESTIVAL SPECTACULAR
This years Cockstock will feature as ever a great new location (think ‘ghostbusters building’ with hidden rooms, roof top terrace, and a view of the whole of London), fantastically obscure live acts, 16 hours of snowballing entertainment, commissioned installations, purpose built reggae sound, and best of all… back to a rough and ready DIRT CHEAP BAR.
Here’s a snap-shot of the view from the location roof where in reality you can see past Battersea Powerstation to beyond the O2 dome!

Cockstock 2009: A short clip featuring the Terrace and Main Stage at Cockstock (@ DEX). Look out for Blakey smashing it, the Cockstock letters installation and a brief break for Prang!
The Merkinz live at Cockstock 2009: Stage diving, mic fumbling, DG20 solos, mosh pits and love fits; all part of The Merkinz live act.
Cockstock 2008: Animal Electric. A constant 350 peope party all day all night in a secret castle in SW17. Highlights include Future Signal walking in on Cockstock stalwart Black Elvis taking a shit, after another epic performance. Mouthwash provided the set of Festival blasting the main room getting everyone skankin’! Even the neighbours and the Police enjoyed the show.
Cockstock 2007: The first London based festival held by The Merkinz at a secret Location south of the river. Highlights included tranquilised ravers coming through to the main room and encountering the weird and wonderfull Miss Roberts belting out absurd cabaret. And of course, the breathtaking performance from the Merkinz (above) themselves; Love was truely forged on this day for so many.
