Shake Aletti and Dodo added

shake aletti

Fresh from The BBC Introducing main stage at Sonar, Sheffield’s unclassifiable dance act Shake Aletti bring the party to Cockstock. In the space of a year, Steve & G have worked with/remixed artists such as Roots Manuva, Bat for Lashes, Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding, and Roisin Murphy, and they raise the roof live.

dodo

We are also very excited about the arrival of Freshly Squeezed’s Victorian Astronaut Dodo. Watch her amazing Electric Love here, and also catch her performing at Bestival this year. At this year’s Cockstock we get the full audio visual show with the Punkvert VJs.

Cockstock - News

Time to release some more detail on this years live line up; here are a few snippets of info on some of the acts performing on the 18th September. We will be releasing more over the next few weeks and a Cockstock Podcast is set to drop at the end of August.

black elvis

First things first, Black Elvis returns by popular demand and will kick off our biggest live roster yet. South London Delta Blues and Rocksters Banned Sauce will provide an attack of the killer bees, in contrast to Flamenco wizard Juan Martin. Regarded as one of the best guitarists in the world, Martin will provide a latin twist to our industrial setting playing an exclusive set with electronic producer Carlotek show casing their Flamencotek sound. We also welcome rockers Beggars Canyon (think Captain Beefheart playing Tool, really loud) and Hip-Hop party starters Frenglish Connexion to the main stage this year… yes they actually have a song titled Brok Wild! Also look out for Rock n Roll trail blazers Johnny and the Medicine Show (pictured). “Britain’s answer to The Drums” say The Independent.

johnny

We’ll tempt you further with one man barber shop Hyperpotamus. Doesn’t quite do him justice but check out a video performance for LA here. You can also catch him at Big Chill Festival.

Read the full line up here.

Also, if you fancy a quick drink before you come in head to Frank’s Cafe for more spectacular views and a sculpture exhibition. All details here at their site, they’ll be open from 11 am.

Cockstock 2010 - 18th September

This years Cockstock will feature as ever a great new location (think ‘ghostbusters building’ with hidden rooms, roof top terrace, and a view of the whole of London), fantastically obscure live acts, 16 hours of snowballing entertainment, commissioned installations, purpose built reggae sound, and best of all… back to a rough and ready DIRT CHEAP BAR.

Here’s a snap-shot of the view from the location roof where in reality you can see past Battersea Powerstation to beyond the O2 dome!
